Minnesota Governor
Courts, public defenders to get COVID-19 aid
On Sept. 29, Gov. Tim Walz announced that he was authorizing use of $15 million in federal American Rescue Plan money to fund grants to help the homeless find shelter as the winter months approach.
Less heralded was the governor’s simultaneous decision to authorize expenditures of $13.9 million in ARP money to aid the courts and the state’s public defenders.
